The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Women’s Summit is a center for women’s public policy and leadership development in the Charlotte region, providing research and analysis on issues that impact women and developing women leaders. We are committed to ensuring that women’s perspectives are represented in research, public policy, leadership development, and education.
Founded as a community-based organization in 2006, and integrated into UNC Charlotte in July, 2010, the Women’s Summit continues to raise awareness of the current social and economic wellbeing of women, focusing on:
In doing so, the Women’s Summit provides opportunities for research and education on women’s policy issues for faculty and students. We foster increased collaborations between community members and UNC Charlotte; enhance public knowledge of the educational opportunities and services provided by the Women’s Summit; and we increase both faculty and student research that addresses fundamental and regional issues for women.
In the coming months we will be sending occasional updates on our plans for the Summit.
